Sun Sentinel is seeking a HVAC Technician to join our team!
Works under limited supervision of Facility Maintenance Supervisor, providing work pertaining to the operations and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems necessary to sustain and preserve the assets and environment in Deerfield and outside facilities as needed.
To maintain all department records accurately including log book, work orders, time cards, preventive maintenance activities, purchase requisitions, project logs and back log business.
To operate, service and maintain Tracer Summit building management system for Deerfield, including all support hardware equipment.
To inspect, maintain and replace facility equipment as needed and perform all necessary preventive maintenance as scheduled to provide reliable support to customers.
To repair and maintain mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical devices associated with facility equipment.
To repair and maintain all process piping and domestic plumbing, and have a thorough working knowledge of hydraulic and hydronic technologies.
To repair and maintain all mechanical refrigeration and process cooling equipment/systems and have comprehensive knowledge of trouble-shooting and problem-solving.
To repair and maintain all fire protection systems and devices to guarantee problem free operations and readiness.
To repair and maintain integrity of building and infrastructure to achieve maximum reliability, safety and endurance.
To assist and supervise outside contract services, projects and proposals for same with sound, basic operating procedures.
To assist internal and external purchase requisitions for operating supplies, materials, machinery and equipment, and replacement/retrofit projects.To ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
To promote a safe and healthy work environment for the department.
Must have high school or equivalent with emphasis on mechanical/electrical plant engineering related work preferred.
Advanced technical training and/or associates degree desirable.
Typically 5 years experience with facilities and/or plant engineering work and skills.
Experience in direct digital controls and computer-based building management systems.
Must be able to follow building plans or blueprints and instructions from supervisors, lay out the job, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of the trade.
Must posses a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, problem-solving and trouble-shooting proficiency, and capable of concise communicating skills. Required working with various chemicals, refrigerant and fluids.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
